Description:
The tall grass, Aristida x Stipa (or oat like) forms the bulk of the grass cover here. It is a beautiful grass 6-8 ft. high - but the leafy part only 2-3 ft. high .. Brachystegia? grove ... in back with native village. Better huts in back - those in fore are entirely of grass. [Shantz travel journal, Jan. 11, 1920]
