Grassland and Acacia. Out west of Kimberley - a great area of Acacia - desert grass. Where overgrazed the Gutierrezia like plant is almost pure - where protected a diverse stand of grass. The Acacia is not uniformly distributed, but there are open grassy places. [Shantz travel journal, Sep. 21, 1919]
