Close up of Jantje. O. Jantje - the oldest native - 114 some years ago as he puts it - did not know Livingston but heard of him when about 14 yrs. old. His mother was Griqua and his father a Namaqua. Had been at Kuruman and McKotti and knew of Livingston. He is terribly old - but very talkative. [Shantz travel journal, Sep. 16, 1919]
