Travel notes pages 538-551. Shantz is still in the Kafue area where he describes more vegetation, samples collected, and temperature. Shantz receives a telegram from Theirry telling him of a railroad wreck that has killed two men from their expedition, Armstrong and Stowell. Photographs include images of a native woman planting corn, native agriculture, soil orchid (Lissochillus arenarius), vegetation and landscapes of grasslands, fruit and dissected fruit, and a panorama of an area in Kafue.
